Wire 2024 in Düsseldorf: Electrifying Prospects for Cables

Whirring and buzzing, along with the hum of electric cables, are increasingly becoming integral elements for the good sound on the streets of the world, because electric vehicles are conquering the asphalt – on quiet “soles”.

High-quality cables can thereby ensure that the new vehicle shaft does not start to stutter. Electrifying prospects for automotive manufacturers and their suppliers, which also include manufacturers of cables and cable-making machinery.

The market potential for electric cars is enormous, boosted by the necessity for an energy transition in mobility. A future ban on internal combustion engines, which are powered by petrol or diesel and the associated government incentive systems, will lead to diversion – from 2035, no new cars may be registered in the EU and other countries which cannot drive as emission-free.

Cable Industry – An enabler For Mobility Transition

These requirements provide a clear perspective for the cable industry: More and higher quality cables will be required. Companies are therefore increasingly investing in the development of new technologies and new “current providing” models.

The cable industry is now being challenged – it must and will deliver: Charging cables, a charging connection to the battery and cables for transporting the current via the inverter to the electric motor are required, as a few examples. The internal wiring supplies components such as air conditioning compressors, electric heating and cooling, enable the electric car to pick up speed.

E-mobility has already gained a lot of momentum to date – on board too with cables from manufacturers and suppliers, who are becoming enablers for a major energy transition. Trends and highlights from the industrial sectors of wire, cables and pipes will be presented at the world’s leading trade fair of Wire & Tube from 15 to 19 April 2024 in Düsseldorf.

Current industry and product information can be found on the Internet portal at www.wire-tradefair.com and www.tube-tradefair.com and on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/showcase/wire-and-tube-leading-international-trade-fairs/.
