INTERMACH & SUBCON Thailand 2022 Opening Ceremony Highlights

At the opening of the Intermach-Subcon Thailand 2022 Machinery Technology and Subcontracting Industry Exhibition held at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) today (18 May 2022), Ms Duangjai Asawachintachit, Secretary-General of the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), stated that the board recognises the importance of developing Thai industries and promoting investment in targeted industries that will play an important role.

The BOI has collaborated with Informa markets and the Thai subcontracting promotion association to organize the event “Subcon Thailand 2022” in order to create a business environment to support the growth of target industries, particularly in terms of Thai manufacturers who are prepared to enter into subcontracting production with large companies that will become buyers which the BOI has invited to the annual function this year. 

We continue to emphasize the potential of the subcontracting industry at SUBCON Thailand 2022, which is in its sixteenth edition as of this year. Being a hub for purchasing industrial components and providing opportunities for business expansion between Thai entrepreneurs and international buyers. In addition, there is an opportunity to connect all businesses so that they can communicate across borders, as well as to create a body of knowledge on technology and innovation alongside the production sector, with access and coverage.” Ms Duangjai said.

This year’s fair has exhibits and events:

  • There will be a Buyer’s Village or piece-by-piece exhibition space.
  • The S-Curve exhibition zone, and a special show Presenting industrial items for which entrepreneurs in the industry that manufacture quality parts have established production techniques to enable production in target industries such as the automobile industry. and contemporary automobiles.
  • Electric industry, electronics and intelligent electronics industry, automation and robotics business, digital and software industry, medical equipment industry, aerospace industry, and rail industry are among more than 45 relevant themes.

Mr. Panuwat Triyangkulsri, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, states that while Thailand alters its economic structure to increase its development in accordance with the ‘Thailand 4.0’ goal, the country is concentrating on becoming a value-driven economy by shifting from commodity production to the production of innovative items. Significant infrastructural investments are now being planned. This includes the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) project, high-speed trains, airports, ports, and roads are all part of the government’s plan to make Thailand one of the most attractive investment locations in the area.

“Many industries are currently undergoing fresh revolutions and advances. Technological advancements serve a crucial function as a catalyst for numerous significant transformations. The advent of the intelligent factory advanced machines include industrial robots, 3D printing, data centers, cloud services, 5G, AI, IoT, and AI. All of these are essential to the future transformation of the industry. This year marks the return of INTERMACH-SUBCON Thailand 2022 in its entirety. This is a big regional event made possible by the participation of the public and business sectors both domestically and internationally. This event is in line with Thailand’s government policy and satisfies the needs of the private sector, which is in search for latest technologies and methods to develop technology-driven and innovation-driven manufacturing in order to construct a “smart factory” with increased efficiency and decreased production costs.

Thailand Positioned To Be A Global Electric Vehicle Hub

The Thailand Board of Investment’s (BOI) New York office, recently announced the government’s plans to support the country’s growing electric transportation industry and uptake of electric vehicles.


With wide-sweeping initiatives, the Thai Government unveiled a three-phase development roadmap designed to increase EV production to 30 percent of its total automotive manufacturing capacity—750,000 by 2030. It is an aggressive plan, designed to fast-track the building of a trained workforce, manufacturing capacity and infrastructure.

Supported by government policies and incentives, Thailand’s EV roadmap encompasses all aspects of the electric vehicle supply chain, with a focus on batteries, local production of critical parts, and the inclusion of commercial vehicles of all sizes, as well as ships.

More than 2,000 companies currently operate in Thailand’s automotive supply chain and 30 global automakers are using the country as their main production base in ASEAN, establishing Thailand as the world’s 11th-largest automobile production base.

In support of the uptake of electric vehicles, the Thai Government and private sector partners plan to establish 10,000 charging stations across the country by 2025, with the number expected to increase to 80,000 charging stations by 2035.

Beyond incentives, we are offering comprehensive workforce development support. There is no better time to invest in Thailand.”

ANCA Sheet Metal Solutions Appoints Nicholas Doyle As General Manager

Nicholas Doyle replaces Frank Holzer as the General Manager of ANCA Sheet Metal Solutions (ASM) at a time of significant growth for the company. Nicholas brings over 25 years’ experience in leadership, engineering, manufacturing, systems and quality to help strengthen the business.

Nicholas, a qualified Engineer, worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Bredo Mators in Melbourne, Australia before joining the ANCA Group as a CAD CAM Engineer. After four years working for ANCA Australia he moved to ANCA CNC Machines Thailand to manage the factory transition into a larger facility and subsequently became the Manufacturing Manager for that new Thailand facility.

Bringing over 25 years’ experience in CNC machining and automation, Nicholas will focus on cost reduction and process improvements and aims to develop a strong ASM team focused on customer satisfaction.

In the immediate vicinity of the international airport Suvarnabhumi in the east of the Thai capital Bangkok, Bystronic has opened a new office as of March 22, 2021. With the new national company, Bystronic is moving closer to its Thai customers and can provide them with even more direct support with a motivated team.

After a decade of partnership with the local representative, the newly founded Bystronic Thailand Co. Ltd. enables Bystronic to work even more closely with customers in Thailand, to support them even more directly, and to advance into segments that could not be tackled before. The experienced team of engineers has been supporting customers for years. A new and dynamic sales team will further increase the awareness of the Bystronic brand in Thailand.
